Conservation genetics of Parasenecio peltifolius

The plant community in Ashiu, Kyoto has a high conservation value in terms of species richness and the presences of glacial relict plants. However, recent expansion of sika deer population has severely damaged many of these plant species, threatening them to a brink of local extinction. To better manage the remaining populations of Parasenecio peltifolius, an endangered plant in this prefecture, this study aims at revealing the genetic diversity and structure within the populations.
