NSW BioNet Indicative Threatened Ecological Community, Population and Species Distributions

The data contains the indicative distributions of threatened ecological communities, population and species, maintained in the BioNet Threatened Biodiversity Profiles data collection. \r\n\r\nThe base geometry is IBRA subregions (Interim Bio-Regional of Australia). For each threatened entity, a 'known' or 'predicted' occurrence value is attributed against the individual IBRA subregions that form the species distribution.\r\n\r\nAttribution of 'Known' occurrence for an IBRA subregion is based on the existence of at least one valid observation record with a spatial accuracy of better than 10km. 'Predicted' occurrence contain no validated records where the spatial accuracy is better than 10km. The assignment is based on expert knowledge and is generally not assisted by distribution modelling approaches. For species and populations, validation of the underlying species records are managed by the Threatened Species Accountable Officer within the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. \r\n\r\nThe data are rendered live from BioNet Atlas to the Threatened Biodiversity Profiles web app https://threatenedspecies.bionet.nsw.gov.au/.\r\n\r\nThese distributions are pulled from the BioNet OData Web Service entity sets; ThreatenedBiodiversity_TECGeographicData, ThreatenedBiodiversity_TPGeographicData and ThreatenedBiodiversity_TSGeographicData.
