Measured heat transfer for thin wires in air

Measurements of heat transfer from a heated wire in an streaming air. The measurements were carried out as part of an investigation into hot-wire anemometers. The wires used were made of platinum-plated tungsten with diameters of 5 µm and 2.5 µm. A range of data sets is presented, covering air temperatures from 10 to 50 °C, velocities from 0.3 to 30 m/s and wire temperatures from 20 to 70°C, though not all data sets span the entire range.
