Nucleospora cyclopteri strain:Lamicii Genome sequencing

Despite the intriguing nature of intranuclear parasitism and the possibility for these organisms to exploit their hosts DNA Damage Repair protein repertoire, the sequenced genomes of only a handful of intranuclear eukaryotes is currently publicly available. To this end, we sequence the genome of Nucleospora cyclopteri, an intranuclear microsporidia infecting lumpfish as part of this study. We also use phylogenomics and bioinformatic analyses to investigate the impact intranuclear parasitism.
