Alabastron from the Necropolis of Poggio Pinci, Asciano, Tuscany, Italy
Alabastron made of alabaster. Cylindrical body. Such alabastra originated in Egypt and became widespread in Etruria in the 5th and 4th c. BCE. Some examples are documented until the Roman period. Tomb V.262, Necropolis of Poggio Pinci, Asciano. Mangani 1983, n. cat. V, 33. Displayed at the Civic Museum of Archaeology and Sacred Art at Palazzo Corboli, Asciano.
