LASEK (Laser-Assisted Sub-Epithelial Keratectomy) is a type of refractive eye surgery that combines elements of PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) and LASIK, involving the loosening and folding back of the epithelial layer before reshaping the cornea with an excimer laser to correct vision issues like myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
