资源简介:
For their quick action and binding strength, cyanoacrylate (CA)-based tissue adhesives can be used instead of sutures to fix meshes used for hernia repair. The current study's objective was to evaluate the tissue alterations induced by CA glues of a different formulation used to fix mesh for hernia repair in a rat models. l. In 40 rats, parietal defects were induced in the abdomen wall, which were then repaired using polyvinylidene fluoride mesh fixed by two different types of CA glue. (Glubran® Tiss 2, GEM s.r.l., Viareggio, Italy and Histoacryl, BBraun Corp., Germany). Macroscopic and histological examinations were carried out to assess mesh fixation , the existence of complications, and tissue responses at one day, seven days, fifteen days, and thirty days after fixation.. Because there were no symptoms of inflammation, displacement, or detachment, the tissue adhesives were effective and had a good biocompatibility. The initial tissue response was minimal and transient in the areas where CA glues were used. Collagen fibrils production around prosthetic components began 7 days after implantation and collagen maturation was achieved 30 days after surgery, ensuring a successful mesh integration. The fixation of the mesh with the Glubran® Tiss 2 glue induced a minor inflammatory reaction and a minor foreign body reaction while inducing a good production of connective tissue necessary for fixing the prosthetic material. In conclusion, our research demonstrated that the two CA adhesives tested caused a successful integration of mesh into host abdominal wall with few complication and a good tolerance as testified by a diminished acute tissue reactivity.
