LBA observations for project V515 semester 2021OCTS

We request 72 hours at the LBA facilities including Parkes, Hobart26, Ceduna, Tid, AuScope (plus ATCA and Mopra, if technically possible) for geodetic VLBI observations (single frequency mode in X-band) of 9 radio sources that display large positional displacement (>5 mas) from one epoch to another or/and fast apparent motion for several years. All the astrometric peculiarities were found recently, and the physical mechanisms seem to be different for all objects. Therefore, apart from the astrometric need to identify and remove similar objects from the fundamental reference frame sample, the observations have high potential astrophysical relevance.\r\nRecent technological achievement allows us to calibrate the ionosphere with global total electron content (TEC) maps. Therefore, we could accommodate some of the LBA facilities that have never used before for geodetic VLBI observations, including the 30-m radio telescopes in Warkworth (New Zealand) and Ceduna.
