Characterization and optimization of microbial preparations for the production of hydrogen gas from food waste

The goal of the project was to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the promising microbial preparation that provides efficient high hydrogen yield and fermentation of mixed organic wastes. The specific objectives of the research were:1) To characterize the composition of microbial preparations used as inocula for the production of biohydrogen.2) To characterize the biohydrogen reactor microbiome and relate the presence of specific microbial groups with the increased yield of H2.
