Elizabethkingia sp. 2-6 Genome sequencing. Elizabethkingia sp. 2-6

This project aimed to solve the problem of an ongoing Elizabethkingia outbreak observed in a medical center in central Taiwan. Recently, the cases are increasing worldwide and the mortality rate is high. Elizabethkingia is a newly established genus. Two of the members, E. meningoseptica and E. anophelis, are the most significant species to cause human infections, but common MALDI-ToF-based taxonomic methods used in hospitals cannot distinguish them accurately so far. In this project we conduct genomic sequencing of a Elizabethkingia strain collected from the hospital environment.
