Effects of Rumen-Protected Guanidinoacetic Acid on Growth Performance and Rumen Microbiota of Yaks

This study investigates the effects of rumen-protected guanidinoacetic acid (RP-GAA) supplementation on growth performance and rumen microbiota composition in yaks under high-altitude conditions. By evaluating growth parameters (e.g., weight gain, feed efficiency) and metagenomic sequencing of microbial communities, the research aims to elucidate how RP-GAA regulates energy metabolism in plateau-adapted ruminants through host-microbiome interactions. The findings will provide actionable strategies to enhance yak productivity and support sustainable pastoral development in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau region, where long-term nutrient scarcity and extreme climatic conditions critically constrain livestock production.
