NRS-225 | Registers of named varieties of seeds grown at the Farm

Entries in both volumes record accession number, variety name, sources of seed, and remarks. Some entries give corresponding file references, while others give a history of a particular variety of seed and of its receipt by the Farm. Pages 28-362 of volume 11/11765 and pages 1 to 129 of volume 11/11766 register grain, pasture and vegetable seeds. There is a list of prefixes used within the register to denote accessions from the ten existing Experiment Farms, and also lists of five categories of wheat varieties (ie. early, late, etc.). Seeds were sent to the Farm from both within Australia and abroad. One large collection was sent from Cambridge University, and more moderate quantities of seed varieties were sent to the Farm from countries such as Algeria, Israel, India and North America.
