Category Lands

Category I lands are set aside exclusively for the Native communities that are signatories to the two agreements. Cree and Naskapi Category I lands are further subdivided into categories IA and IB: "A" for lands under the jurisdiction of Canada, and "B" under that of Quebec. Lands under federal jurisdiction are governed by Native institutions as defined in the Cree-Naskapi (of Quebec) Act. Lands under Quebec's jurisdiction are governed by corporations composed exclusively of Native people. Category II lands also come under provincial jurisdiction, but the Native people participate in the management of hunting, fishing, trapping and the development of game reserves. They also have exclusive hunting, fishing and trapping rights on these lands. Category III lands are Quebec public lands where Native and non-Native peoples may hunt and fish. However, Native people enjoy certain privileges there under the agreements. They have exclusive rights to the harvesting of certain water species and certain fur-bearing.第一类土地（Category I lands）专属预留予签署上述两项协议的原住民社群使用。克里族（Cree）与纳斯卡皮族（Naskapi）的第一类土地可进一步细分为IA与IB子类：其中A类土地受加拿大管辖，B类土地受魁北克管辖。受联邦管辖的土地，需依照《魁北克省克里-纳斯卡皮法案》（Cree-Naskapi (of Quebec) Act）所定义的原住民机构进行管理；受魁北克管辖的土地，则由完全由原住民组成的法人团体负责运营。 第二类土地（Category II lands）同样隶属于省级管辖范畴，但原住民可参与狩猎、捕鱼、设陷阱捕猎以及野生动物保护区开发的管理工作，同时在该类土地上享有专属的狩猎、捕鱼及设陷阱捕猎权利。 第三类土地（Category III lands）属于魁北克公共土地，原住民与非原住民均可在此开展狩猎与捕鱼活动。不过根据前述协议，原住民在此类土地上享有特定特权，对特定水生物种及部分毛皮动物享有专属采收权。
