Liver developmental microenvironment promotes iHSC generation from human iPSCs

In this study, we developed a novel in vitro differentiation scheme of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), which mimics the liver microenvironment to generate highly efficient iHSCs with collagen expression, and vitamin A storage, and the transcriptome is highly similar to that of the primary HSCs, and identified new marker genes, such as FBLN5, NID2, and SVEP1, which will provide a new tool for the modeling and therapeutic treatment of liver disease
