As of 2016, the consumption of wine in the Netherlands was the highest of the three Benelux countries. In that year, roughly 3.4 million hectoliters of wine were consumed in the Netherlands. At the same time, approximately 260 thousand hectoliters of wine were consumed in Luxembourg, and roughly three million in Belgium.
