At present, the research on mulberry anthocyanin synthesis was limited to the identification and expression level analysis of a few genes, but the regulation of transcription factors and the process of material metabolism are still unclear, and the major gene that cause anthocyanin synthesis to be blocked and result in fruit color loss have not been identified. In this project, Morus atropurpurea Roxb. and Morus alba L. were used as experimental material to study the related genes and metabolites in anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway and construct gene-metabolite regulatory network by transcriptome and analysis, to further elucidate the synthetic pathway and mechanism of mulberry anthocyanin, and lay a foundation for the biological engineering technology of mulberry anthocyanin synthesis.
