资源简介:
This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the 50 most cited articles on the biopsychosocial impact of malocclusion on children and adolescents in the school environment. The Web of Science Core Collection (WoS-CC) database was searched. The extracted data included authors, publication year and country, title, the number of citations, journals, DOI, study design, index for malocclusion diagnosis, age group, sample size, biopsychosocial aspects, instruments, and keywords. A bibliometric network was created with VOSviewer and Power BI software. Descriptive analyses and Poisson regression were performed (p < .05). The 50 most cited articles were selected from the 1,133 analyzed studies, totaling 1,942 citations. The Angle Orthodontist journal stood out with the most publications on the topic. The authors with the most connections were T.M. Ardenghi, S.A.S. Vedovello, F. Tomazoni, G.N. da Rosa, J.P. del Fabro, M.L. Ramos-Jorge, and S. Tuchtenhagen. Brazil published the most articles, and cross-sectional studies were the most frequent design. Cross-sectional studies performed by Brazilian authors investigating the impact of malocclusion on oral health-related quality of life prevailed. Additional longitudinal studies are required to deepen the understanding of causal relationships between malocclusion and biopsychosocial aspects.
