Role of the Notch signalling pathway during posterior regeneration in the annelid Platynereis dumerilii

In this study we investigated the role of the Notch signalling pathway during posterior regeneration in the annelid Platynereis dumerilii. Using pharmacological inhibitors we showed that regeneration is blocked at early stage of regeneration when the Notch pathway is disrupted. Precise characterization of the effects of those inhibitors on regeneration reveals important features such as the changes in cell identities toward a neuronal fate. To better understand this process, we performed RNA seq on treated versus control samples for two stages of regeneration.
