Scans monitoring Callicebus nigrifrons

Ecological data collected by scan sample of 6 groups of Black-fronted titi monkeys Callicebus nigrifrons at the Santuario do Caraça, in 2015-2016. Site description: See a description of the study site at https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ajp.23335 (pdf available on demand) Study subjects: 6 groups of wild titi monkeys. Group composition is available in the 'Read me' sheet of the dataset. Groups were habituated to human researchers between 2004 and 2014, and were all completely habituated at the beginning of the data collection. Data collection: Data collection took place from Oct 2015 to Aug 2016, for a total of 925 hours. Each group was monitored at least 4 days/month. Groups were monitored from dawn, for at least 6h/day, by a team of two researchers. Every 10 minute, a scan sampling were performed, to collect: -Identity (which can be linked to age and sex) of the individual -Its behaviour -Its vegetation strata -Its height (distance from the ground) -GPS coordinates of the centre of the group (available on demand) A total of 6 researchers collected data. The training of new researchers was performed by the same researchers (MB and GM) but no inter-observer reliability test was conducted. The first month of data collection of each new researcher is not included in the final dataset (to remove the potential errors due to the learning process from the final dataset).
