In this research, I study the dynamics of the immune system in the worm mouse model. I will determine the molecular changes during Th cell differentiation upon the worm immune response by monitoring gene expression at the single cell level, by using the single cell RNA-seq. Single CD4+ T helper cells are monitored from different mouse tissues (mesenteric lymph nodes and spleens. This will quantify cell-to-cell variation and stochastic differences in gene expression within one cell type/population, identify changes in gene expression during an immune response, determine individual cell’s identity and state, and potentially reveal new cell subtypes.
