In this study, we showed that BPS exposure induced dysbiosis of gut microbiota, which further resulted in intestinal permeability and inflammation, and ultimately damaged oocyte quality. More importantly, we found that alginate oligosaccharide (AOS) reshapes the intestinal microbiota to improve intestinal homeostasis and thus prevents the deleterious effects of BPS on intestine and oocytes. Oocyte was collected from CD-1 mice with BPS or AOS or AOS/BPS or without AOS/BPS or FMT-BPS or FMT-Control treatment, and oocyte mRNA was detected by Smart-seq2.
