Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio in Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Marker of Clinical Outcomes and Short-Term Prognosis

Acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) are associated with substantial morbidity, healthcare utilization, and mortality. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is an inexpensive inflammatory marker derived from a routine complete blood count and may have prognostic value in patients with AECOPD.
