Manitoba Drought Monitoring: Reservoir Conditions

This is a feature layer of the locations of 15 reservoirs in southern Manitoba that are monitored to track water availability, including possible water shortages. Conditions are reported both as a water level and as a “supply status”. Fields included: Name: Reservoir name LAT: Latitude (decimal degrees) LONG: Longitude (decimal degrees) Community Supplied: The community (or communities) that the reservoir provides water supplies to. Target Level (feet): The water level of the reservoir (in feet) when the reservoir is at full supply level. Observed Level (feet): The measured water level of the reservoir (in feet) for the specified date. Measurement Date: Measurement date. Data is current for the date indicated. Conditions will be updated monthly at the start of the month. Frequency of updates may increase as conditions warrant. Near-real time data are preliminary and subject to change upon review. Storage at Target Level (acre-feet): The volume of water in the reservoir (in acre-feet) when the reservoir is at full supply level. Storage at Observed Level (acre-feet): The volume of water in the reservoir (in acre-feet) corresponding to the observed level taken on the specified date. Supply Status (observed storage / target storage) (%): The storage at observed level compared to the storage at target level (termed “full supply level”). A supply status equal to or greater than 100 % represents a reservoir that is currently at or exceeding full supply level, respectively.
