资源简介:
A single bulk soil sample from midden deposits in a trench profile on the Senior Housing
Project portion of site CA-MNT-831 in Pacific Grove, Monterey County, California, was analyzed
for pollen, phytoliths, and macrofloral remains. This site is currently the oldest known site on
the Monterey Peninsula, with occupation primarily during Phase I of the Early Period. Many of
the radiocarbon dates from this site fall between 5550-5770 years BP (Breschini and Haversat
2006:1). Pollen, phytolith, and macrofloral analyses will be used to provide information
concerning plant resources available to and utilized by the prehistoric occupants of this site.
