DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS THROUGH INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES
收藏资源简介:
Speaking is one of the most important skills in foreign language learning because it enables learners to communicate ideas, opinions, feelings, and information in real-life situations. However, many English language learners experience difficulties in speaking because of limited vocabulary, lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, and insufficient opportunities for meaningful communication. This article examines the role of interactive activities in developing English speaking skills and considers how communicative tasks can encourage learners to participate more actively in classroom interaction. Particular attention is given to pair work, group discussions, role-plays, information-gap activities, problem-solving tasks, and presentations. Such activities can create a supportive learning environment in which students have opportunities to use English for meaningful purposes rather than simply studying language forms. The article argues that interactive activities can contribute to learners’ fluency, confidence, vocabulary use, pronunciation, and communicative competence. Effective classroom interaction should therefore be an essential component of modern English language teaching.
