资源简介:
The Argentine snake-necked turtle (Hydromedusa tectifera), also known commonly as the South American snake-necked turtle is a species of turtle in the family Chelidae. The species is known for the long neck to which its common names refer and is found in northern Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and southern Brazil (from Wikipedia entry). This sample from an adult male individual raised at Turtle Island (https://turtle-island.org) in Graz, Austria was collected by Peter Praschag and Shannon DiRuzzo to generate a high-quality reference genome. The individual's parents were captured in 1976 in Uruguay. Sequencing and assembly were conducted at the DRESDEN-concept Genome Center (DcGC) and the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG), and the assembly is being included as an ordinal reference genome in the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP).
