In airway epithelial cells, Tlr4 mediates both innate and adaptive immune responses to viral pathogens through the surface fusion glycoprotein (RSV F), however the mechanism is not well characterized. We used microarrays to identify Tlr4-mediated gene expression pathways induced by RSV infection. Tlr4-normal and Tlr4-mutant mice were infected intranasally with RSV19 (10^6 PFU) or vehicle.
