ECAS is a bipartite complex that links RNA polymerase II elongation with co-transcriptional RNA processing. It acts independently of P-TEFb, supports elongation, splicing, and 5' capping, and prevents premature termination. Disruption of ECAS impairs transcript elongation and splicing fidelity.
