资源简介:
Sewage water in the hamlet of Cambridge Bay is collected in storage tanks outside of buildings and subsequently dumped by tanker trucks in a system of two sewage lagoons, where it is kept for a period of time. The partially treated sewage water is then flown through a wetland and eventually discharged into the eastern arm of Cambridge Bay, in the same general area as the planned seawater intake for the CHARS aquaria. A fairly large river at the end of the east arm carries water from the sewage outlet towards the CHARS seawater intake helping to dilute any polluting effects, and the tides in this area may also contribute to water mixing in the east arm of the bay. Taking all this into consideration, determining the ideal depth of the CHARS seawater intake pipe is of great importance. For this purpose, the bathymetry of a section of the east arm of Cambridge Bay offshore of the future CHARS site has been performed in the summer of 2013. The bathymetry GPS track is available in both *.txt and *.gpx formats.
