This data package contains the Helpful Contacts Information Agency List by Organization is provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). They provide contact information for specific organizations that can help the individuals with Medicare-related questions. While Helpful Contacts Information Agency List By Topic provides contacts information for specific topics that can help the individuals with Medicare-related questions. CMS gathered the data contained in the supplier directory from the National Supplier Clearinghouse (NSC). This directory helps to provide names, addresses, and contact information for suppliers that provide services or products under the Medicare program throughout the U.S. Medicare’s Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) Competitive Bidding Program changes the amount Medicare pays for certain DMEPOS items. Under this program, suppliers submit bids to provide certain medical equipment and supplies to people with Medicare living in, or visiting, competitive bidding areas. Medicare uses these bids to set the amount it pays for each item. Qualified, accredited suppliers with winning bids are chosen as Medicare contract suppliers. The program: i). Helps an individual and Medicare save money, ii). Ensures that an individual continue to get quality products from accredited suppliers, and iii). Helps limit fraud and abuse in the Medicare Program. The MED Suppliers Network is a group of durable medical equipment suppliers who have met the quality standards and accreditation requirements set forth by Content Management System (CMS) and were awarded contracts for Competitively Bid items. Also listed on the site are durable medical equipment suppliers across the nation who can supply product to Medicare patients who are not currently affected by Competitive Bidding.
