These are records originating from individual schools. They include admission books, punishment books, examination books, stock books, visitors books, staff meeting records and observation books. A microfilmed card index to these records is available in the Western Sydney reading room as Reel 1354.Visitors' books, staff meeting records and observation books are open to public access.A number of records relating to schools in the Hunter, Riverina and New England regions are on loan to the University of Newcastle Archives, the Charles Sturt University Archives, Wagga Wagga, and the University of New England Archives respectively. Please NoteThis 'series' consists of a large number of archival series and is gradually being divided into these with the School that made and used the records being shown as the creating agency. This process will take many years, however, part of this series has already been re-registered in this manner. e.g. McCully's Gap Provisional/Public School Admission Register [1/5129] in this series is now NRS-16922-1 Register of Admission, Progress and Withdrawal, 1916-1969.Items are no longer being added to NRS-3931. Since 2000 newly received and documented records have been registered as separate series as described above.
