We report the gene expression profile of two polypolid Saccharomyces pastorianus mutants obtained by random mutagenesis using radicicol. Mutants derived from the Group I strain CBS1538 and the Group II strain W34/70. Saccharomyces pastorianus is a hybrid of Saccharomuyces cerevisiaie and Saccharomyces eubayanus. We report changes in transcriptome of the mutants compared to their respective parental strain Overall design: Mutant strains were generated using a mutagenesis approach that involved racicicol, an inhibitor of the chaperone Hsp90p. Amino acid analogues of phenylalanine were used as selection method. The strains were grown under fermentation conditions and samples were taken on Day 2 and Day 4 of the fermentation for RNAseq analysis. The strains were also grown in minimal medium without amino acids and with (NH4)2SO4 as a nitrogen source. The transcript patterns were compared in the three conditions.
