Functional metagenome from Alaskan Soil. soil metagenome

This project was undertaken to investigate antibiotic resistance and quorum sensing inducing genes in a remote, Alaskan soil. Functional metagenomic libraries were built from soil from an island in the Tanana River in central Alaska. These libraries are stored in Jo Handelsman's lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison ([e-mail]). EU408346-EU408352, EU408354-EU408359, and EU408353 correspond to genomic sequences containing beta-lactam resistance genes while AY988608-AY989640 are the 16S ribosomal RNA sequences.
