Calcasieu Parish Residential Asset Inventory

This project provides a residential asset inventory for structures in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, with corresponding aerial and surface-level reconnaissance imagery collected after Hurricane Laura. The inventory is distributed as a .geojson file and includes building properties for each residential structure in the parish that are compatible with HAZUS-MH building archetype parameterizations. Building attributes are assigned using a combination of the NHERI SimCenter BRAILS++ tools and manual augmentation. The resulting inventory is used to assess post–Hurricane Laura damage through virtual damage detection. To support this analysis, processed aerial reconnaissance imagery from NOAA’s Emergency Response Imagery and surface-level reconnaissance imagery collected by the Structural Extreme Events Reconnaissance (StEER) network are included in the project. Finally, the inventory reports the peak gust wind speed experienced at each asset location during Hurricane Laura, based on the ARA–NIST wind field hindcast.
