Vegetation - Orange County - 2022 [ds3214]

Aerial Information Systems, Inc. (AIS) was contracted by the Natural Communities Coalition (NCC) to create an updated fine-scale vegetation map of the regional database developed by AIS in 2012-2015. The mapping area covers approximately 86,000 acres of Orange County. The updated map was prepared over a baseline 2022 NAIP digital imagery. The minimum mapping unit (MMU) is 1 acre for upland types and 0.5 acres for wetlands or other special types. Vegetation units were mapped using the National Vegetation Classification Standard (NVCS) to the alliance level, where possible, as depicted in the online version of A Manual of California Vegetation (MCV) (CNPS 2025).
