资源简介:
This project includes raw 16S rDNA sequencing data (V4 region) of human saliva cultured under anoxic conditions with TMAO and with or without inoculation with Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa), a major periodontal pathogen. The goal of the study was to identify taxa that expand in response to trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), a common dietary metabolite and preferred anaerobic electron acceptor of Aa. The following conditions were sequenced: (1) Input: Baseline saliva from healthy human donors, before anoxic culture; (2) Control: Saliva supplemented with water (vehicle for TMAO) and incubated under anoxic conditions for 3-4 days; (3) TMAO: Saliva supplemented with 50 mM TMAO and incubated under anoxic conditions for 3-4 days. These three conditions were tested both without Aa inoculation (3-day culture) and with Aa inoculation (4-day culture). Sequencing of the libraries was performed to quantify relative abundance of taxa across conditions.
