"Drivers and constraints of on-farm diversity. A review. Dataset"

This dataset has been uploaded on figshare to complement the review article: "Drivers and constraints of on-farm diversity. A review". This review article has been submitted to the journal "Agroforestry for sustainable development".It consists in the data extracted from 97 articles (published between Jan 2010 and Dec 2019) selected for the review article. The articles were selected as focusing on the drivers and constraints at farm scale of on-farm diversification.The dataset consists of 3 spreadsheets:1.Articles for data extraction (n=73);2.Articles for discussion (n=24);3.Metadata.
The Spreadsheet “1. Articles for data extraction” includes information about:•definitions (crop diversification, agroforestry, etc.) and measures (species richness, Simpson index, etc.) of on-farm diversity used in the selected articles.•the variables studied as drivers or constraints of on-farm diversity and their effect on on-farm diversity. The effect size was assessed as significantly positive, significantly negative, significant (for categorical variables without directional effect) or statistically not significant.•the quantitative method used to analyse the relationship between the selected variables and on-farm diversity.•the geographical location(s) covered by the analysis.
The Spreadsheet “2. Articles for discussion” includes the articles that were not used to extract data but were still relevant for the topic and the discussion of the results.
