We investigatedmyonucleus-specific microRNA transcriptomes following an acute hypertrophic stimulus in mouse plantaris. Overall design: We performed myounclear small RNA-sequencing during 72 hours of plantaris muscle mechanical overload in the mouse to molecularly define the early phase of skeletal muscle fiber hypertrophy. The analysis of myonucleus-specific mature microRNAs and other small RNA species complements previously published methylation and transcriptional information.
