Parkes observations for project P1114 semester 2021APRS_01

Giant pulses are the bright pulses with the pulse energy more than 10 times the average pulse\r\nenergy. They can be divided into two classes, in which that from first class are seen in young\r\nand millisecond pulsars and that from second class are seen in middle-age pulsars. We propose\r\nobservations with the Ultra-wide-bandwidth Low (UWL) receiver installed at the Parkes telescope\r\nto carry out a study of the giant pulses from the middle-age pulsars. We will obtain the spectrum\r\nand polarization profiles of these GPs over the wide bandwidth. We aim to compare the spectrum\r\nand polarization profiles between the giant pulses and the normal pulses. We will also investigate\r\nwhether there are some connections between the two giant pulse classes.
