A hyperluminous z=2.50 quasar caught in the radiative feedback phase

We have recently discovered a z2.50 heavily reddened (Av6) hyperluminousKVega16.15) broad lined Type 1 quasar: ULAS J1234+0907 (Banerji et al, 2012,MNRAS in press). This quasar is the most intrinsically luminous quasar at z2known. We propose to obtain an Xray spectrum with XMMNewton in order toinvestigate the physical properties of the absorbing material in an effort tounderstand its physical properties and test models of radiative feedback in AGNduring the main epoch of galaxy formation and accretion activity in theUniverse. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
