Dry seed longevity varies considerably among species, among which Salicaceae species are reputed to produce short-lived seeds, making them good models to explore agieng process in the glassy state rather than under accelerated ageing. We compared one long-lived speices and one shorter loved species in this study to provide more information about the molecular mechanism for seed longevity in the dry glassy state.
