Health Plan Price Transparency MRF

**Databricks Healthcare & Life Sciences** team is providing a sample of health plan price transparency Machine Readable Files (MRFs) for the purpose of organizations being able to POC and/or MVP data products regarding insights from this data.

The file(s) are stored in Databricks volumes in json or[ json.gz](http://json.gz) format, are often hundreds of GB in size, and follow the schemas set forth by [CMS](https://github.com/CMSgov/price-transparency-guide/tree/master). Because of the size of each individual json object, we cannot use traditional json parsers and instead use an [open source Databricks solution accelerator](https://github.com/databricks-industry-solutions/hls-payer-mrf-sparkstreaming) to parse data into relational tables (see Notebooks attached).

The relational data is derived from running the accelerator and parsing out the data to consume it for analytics and insights. The sample notebook shows how to use this accelerator and run queries against this data. The tables shared are the outputs of running the notebook on the MRF data.
