资源简介:
Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (sUAS) were used to collect aerial remote sensing data over Marconi Beach on Cape Cod National Seashore, Wellfleet, Massachusetts. The USGS has a stationary camera system (CoastCam) and Meterological station overlooking the beach north of the parking lot on the bluff to observe waves and total water levels. The area experienced multiple large erosion events after fall storms in 2024 and caused the loss of Park Service stairs to the beach. UAS were approved to map the coast in view of the CoastCam and where the Park Service stairs were lost. USGS personnel collected lidar, natural (RGB) color images, GPS points, and ground control points to produce a high resolution point cloud, digital surface model, and natural-color orthomosaic. These will be used to compare how the site has changed and validate the total water level data. This part of the data release is the RGB images.
