Several pedestrians are visible on the wharf a short distance from the shore. In the foreground the railroad tracks running parallel to the coastline are visible as is a train on a parallel track. Construction on the wharf began in 1892 and was completed in 1894 and, at the time, it was the longest wharf in the world. The pier is 4700 feet long.
