Bacteria isolated from the rhizosphere of greenhouse ornamental plants were selected in vitro for their ability to withstand PEG-induced osmotic stress or synthesize the enzyme ACC deaminase. Bacterial isolates in this submission were evaluated in a series of greenhouse experiments for their ability to increase plant quality when grown under low-nutrient conditions.
