This project that aims at identifying candidate genes associated with cassava response to mealybugs (Phenacoccus manihoti) through transcriptome profiling of cassava genotypes infested with mealybugs. The study aims to address pest infestation concerns in a sustainable manner by exploiting biodiversity within the cassava species to identify natural sources of pest resistance/tolerance.
