We used a chemical library to screen for cytotoxic compounds with Michael acceptor groups that induce a cellular response characteristic of proteasome inhibition. We then determined the differentially expressed genes in MCF7 cells following treatment with each of the identified hits This dataset includes expression data from MCF7 cells treated with either DMSO or one of the treatment compounds A total of 36 samples were analyzed. There were 12 treatment conditions (11 treatment compounds + 1 DMSO/Control) and 3 replicates. All treatments were done for 6 hours at 37C. For the respective treatments: Samples 113_1-3 were treated with CB113 10µM; Samples 383_1&2 were treated with CB383 2.5µM; Samples 686_1&2 were treated with CB686 10µM; Samples 729_1-3 were treated with CB729 10µM; Samples 742_1-3 were treated with CB742 5µM; Samples 826_1-3 were treated with CB826 2.5µM; Samples 916_1-3 were treated with CB916 5µM; Samples 997_1-3 were treated with CB997 10µM; Samples 360_1-3 were treated with CB360 10µM; Samples bAP15_1-3 were treated with b-AP15 1µM; Samples 688_1-3 were treated with CB688 2.5µM; samples control_1-3 were exposed to 0.5% DMSO. Pairwise comparisons of the treatment compounds and the control were done to obtain the differentially expressed genes. 2 outliers were excluded from the analysis.
