CORRELATION OF REACTION TIME AND EYE HAND COORDINATION IN FORWARD HEAD POSTURE AMONG COLLEGE GOING STUDENTS

This dataset contains primary research data collected for a cross-sectional observational study investigating the relationship between forward head posture (FHP), reaction time, and eye-hand coordination among college-going students aged 18–26 years.

Forward Head Posture was quantified using the craniovertebral angle (CVA) measured through photographic analysis using Kinovea software. Participants with CVA less than 53° were considered to have FHP. Reaction time was assessed using the Ruler Drop Test, where the distance fallen before catching was recorded and converted into response time. Eye-hand coordination was evaluated using the Alternate Hand Wall Toss Test, measuring the number of successful catches within 30 seconds.

The dataset includes:

Demographic variables: age, gender, height, weight, BMI
Independent variable: craniovertebral angle (CVA)
Dependent variables:
Reaction time (three trials and average)
Eye-hand coordination scores (number of successful catches)

Data were analyzed to determine correlations between FHP severity and neuromotor performance. Depending on data distribution, Pearson’s or Spearman’s correlation coefficients were applied.
