Metagenomic and bioinformatics techniques were applied for the microbial description of a military impacted lagoon in Vieques, Puerto Rico, in parallel comparison with not military impacted lagoons in
freshwater mesocosm were spiked separately with cow, pig, or human feces and monitored overtime with metagenomics. Metagenomes were also sequenced from the fecal material used as inocula.
