Study on the Diversity of Salivary Microorganisms in monozygotic twins

In this study, 80 saliva samples were collected from 10 MZT pairs in order to gather microbiota information via 16s rRNA sequencing. 12 models were developed, taking into consideration various factors such as sample collection intervals, sequence data basis and distance selection. Genetic Algorithm (GA) processes were employed to select high-value species in such models. Ultimately, the 2 models that demonstrated the best distinguishing power in the training test (under 2 types of sampling intervals, respectively) were selected. The model developed for the short interval samples could completely separate MZT sample pairs from inner-individual sample pairs in both training and test sets.
